Your support makes a difference

Notes of appreciation arrive daily from charitable organizations who want to thank provincial employees for their support and generosity.

Here is a sampling of what provincial employees collectively are doing:

Thank you for your recent donation to our community work in the heart of the city. The monthly Inner City Dinner provides a complete sit-down roast beef dinner for 250. We often have another 80 – 100 receive a take-out supper. Our youth shelter usually has 25 to 30 youth overnight. Your donation helps make this all possible.

Your donations are so important to us. Donations help us to help thousands of animals every year, through our spay/neuter programs, our sanctuary for homeless cats, our training for dogs with behavioral challenges, our community outreach, and many other important programs and activities we carry out on a day to day basis.

On behalf of African Preschools Society, I would like to thank you for your generous support of our cause. We are a very lean charity and I can assure you, every dime of donated funds goes directly to our projects. We have no administrative fees, no paid salaries, nor are our travel expenses paid by the charity. We use every bit of the money towards our two preschool projects.
My husband and I are leaving for our annual trip to Africa and we are visiting both schools. Our second preschool has just opened and this will be the first time we will be seeing the new school. Very excited!

AAMAC is honoured to have received pledged donations from provincial government employees. Donations to our Association are used to help Canadian patients in all provinces with bone marrow failure diseases and their families.Specifically, these funds aid in research, provide support to individuals dealing with the diseases and educate patients and healthcare providers - all to ultimately improve the lives of Canadians touched by aplastic anemia, myelodysplastic syndrome (myelodysplasia) or PNH.

Thank you to the Provincial Employees Community Services Fund for your generous donation! This donation is being used to make a great difference for many struggling people in Prince George. Each Monday, Wednesday and Friday we open our doors to the ‘Neighborhood Café’ which offers a full meal for up to 150 people per one hour session. On the weekends our soup truck travels to the VLA which is the region of our city’s poorest concentration, we feed up to 350 people from that truck over 1 hour each Saturday and Sunday.

Thank you for canvassing on behalf of and contributing to CMHA Kamloops Branch.
The donation you provided will be used in a variety of different ways:

  1. To buy youth bus passes for youths who cannot afford to attend our every-evening youth program for life skills and social rehab (if they establish they attend at least 6 times per month they will get a bus pass. We find once they have the bus pass, they attend over 80% of evenings.
  2. To pay a stipend to people with mental illness to do work on behalf of the association, building skills, confidence and employability;
  3. To pay moving expenses for people who have located less expensive housing, but cannot afford to move to it;
  4. To assist with the purchase of medical supplies or services not covered by provincial funding or other assistance (eye exams, non-covered medications etc.)

Thank you again. Our agency has a history of taking very small amounts of money and creating dramatic change in the lives of our clients, which in turn dramatically decreased taxpayer costs.

On that we have a nurse station within our facility 3 days per week, a doctor on Fridays as well as rather substantial giveaway service provided to those in need.

Thank you so much for sending along the Provincial Employees Community Services Fund donation. We have put the money into our Financial Aid Program, where 100% of it will go toward bursaries for people to attend our life-changing educational programs.
Thanks to the individual provincial employees who not only support all British Columbians by their public service, but who have gone beyond to support community based charities as well.
